Mojin: The worm valley Full Movie
Today we have for you another of the most recent news, a film that made us quite excited because it is part of a saga that we liked at first; the Mojin saga or Chinese treasure hunters. This year we have seen the third of the films of the saga: Mojin: The worm valley, which does not have to be a sequel, or a prequel, or a remake ... but simply another of the adventures of this hero along with the views in Mojin : The lost legend and Chronicles of the ghostly tribe. We do not know if you have stopped betting on this franchise or what has happened, but we have seen a decline in general in all the elements that make it up (not only in the budget) and that has left us a bit ironed, however it remains An entertaining adventure movie.
Mojin: The worm valley
Typical characters
Our already known hero: Hu Bayi, on this occasion will have to face a curse from many years ago, for which an evil empress cursed all who opposed her with a mark on the skin and an early death, as well as The same fate for all his descendants. Together with another adventurer, a teacher, her daughter and a couple of helpers, our hero will head to a lost valley in search of a magical orb that is supposed to heal everyone who has the curse, but first they will have to find the place , which hides behind some hidden tracks in ancient dialect and indecipherable riddles; When they find each of their destinies, they will have to face different mystical creatures that protect those places, to finally find the object and the greatest of its enemies.
A film with a very classic structure of adventure and action cinema: almost half an hour to present the characters and the motivations of each to attend the mission, as well as a bit of relationships between them, and from then on they are happening at quite regular time intervals, the crossings through spectacular and dream places with the intrusions of the monsters and the fight against them, each with a difficulty added to the previous one, but of those that always end up winning more thanks to their cunning than to her strength.
Mojin: The worm valley
Spectacular scenery
The biggest problem of this delivery, in addition to a much smaller budget, which has left special effects at a much lower level than we were used to, using the typical CGI that at first do not look bad at all, but that after a year at most, they will be outdated. But not only is that, but all the imagination and Chinese tradition that was seen in previous installments, here has been completely lost, becoming an adventure film more than could have been done anywhere in the world. While in the previous installments we had a story that went a little deeper into some chapter of Chinese history (even if it was far above) and we even had a hero who used Taoist magic and specifically Chinese gadgets to pass the tests, or we found many elements that had much of their origin in mythology, here we only have landscapes that are beautiful because yes, but devoid of any sense, and monsters that are limited to being huge versions of existing animals: lizards , snakes, piranhas ... but for some strange reason, no worm in the whole valley. All without too much personality.
As for the characters, all very well designed in the adventure movie stereotypes, even with some subplots for the secondary characters, which has not convinced us anything have been the actors who have interpreted them, of course different from any of the two other installments of the saga; with a protagonist who has not convinced us at all and a protagonist who is very cool, but almost does not open his mouth throughout the film. Both they and the director of the film with little experience in general.
In short, that to spend an entertaining afternoon with a story of adventures more, it is fine, but do not expect anything up to the other two films that were made of this character.
The best of the movie:
An action at least decent.
The worst of the movie:
Its little originality.
