We continue with the Asian films of Femme Fatales of the '80s, and also with the Taiwan black movies (all the low-budget movies that were made in the' 70s and '80s to get fast money and foreign investment), because this represented a Golden Age of the B-Series cinema where you can find almost any type of cheap bizarre or kungfu movie you can imagine. And the film chosen today is Golden Queen’s Commando, one of those that have already become a classic of the genre and that, in addition to its hooliganism and extremism, perfectly represents the feminine power that would exist in the wars if they intended it. The film is a bit the copy of The 12 of the gallows, but in Taiwanese women, which gives us a very peculiar result while familiar and fun. Again produced by the IFD (that expert in shabby ninja movies and other Series B) and written by Godfrey Ho (the king of shabby movies).

The story is about six very tough and expert girls in different fields of action; the six are arrested by the Nazis accused of committing various war crimes and taken to the same prison where they are known; there, in addition to being subjected to ill-treatment, they also meet one of the most famous women of the entire war, who gathers them together, makes a plan to escape and takes them all out of jail. Once outside, they realize that everything was a master plan, since they needed the abilities of each of them to destroy a chemical plant of the Nazis, so they all go to their goal, pursued by Nazi soldiers and with Some dangers along the way. One by one they will fulfill their objectives, but they will also die until they can destroy the chemical plant.
We can not tell much more of the argument because it is really that simple, it is not here where the strength of the film lies, but we will tell you that it has a great introduction where we can discover each of the girls, their character ability and why they are sent to jail, in small, rather radical scenes. After that, about half of the movie will be spent in jail, becoming the typical prison movie (of which a few were also made at that time in Taiwan) and recreating some typical scenes, but always with these characters so cool and fun. Almost the second half of the entire movie is on the road, devising the plan and fleeing from the Nazis, with some casual encounter and that, so it is not until the last 5-10 minutes when the raid really takes place, everything very quickly and precipitously because the regulatory hour and a half of the films of that time are over; so almost that we are left with the desire for a spectacular action scene at the end of the movie, as usual to replace it with a scene with many explosions, shots, deaths, etc. but without going too far.

Anyway, the film is crazy, we have loved those characters so defined, that in the end they only represent stereotypes of war or Asian films (that of the explosives, the Amazon hut, the alcoholic samurai, the thief, the seducer ...) but taken to the limit of absurdity and with a great sense of humor. Even the bad guys in the movie are an example of taking the characters to their limits to turn the characters into theory in extremes, but in reality parodies of serious war movies.
Without going any further, there is a scene that has made us die of laughter and it is the encounter of the girls with a group of mercenaries in the middle of the jungle with whom, to save themselves they can do nothing more than compete against them in ridiculous tests: drink , eat spaghetis, etc.
The film itself does not leave a minute of boredom, among its short duration, its gender change from prisons to persecutions to war tape ... its action scenes, which are not much, but very lively and even quite bloody , his stolen music of the good, the ugly and the bad, his humorous gags, etc. we have a much more complete bizarre than the typical exploitation.
With actresses not known or with great acting skills, but accustomed to filming in those conditions and with good skills for action such as Brigitte Lin (The Bride with White Hair, Zu warriors), Sally Yeh (The killer) or Elsa Yeung , perfect for the occasion.
In short, a very crazy action war movie, with characters always taken to the limit and that perfectly represents the girl power, where women are ready, skilled, strong, etc. and men do not stop shitting it and being subdued by them. If you like the B Series in general, this is a must.
